Tickets and registration

Set up what each date sells, what people fill in when they register, and the email they get afterwards.

The Registration tab decides what someone meets when they sign up for your event: the tickets on sale, the questions you ask, how the form behaves, and the confirmation they get. It has four sections, Tickets, Questions, Settings and Welcome message, plus a Coupons button for discount codes.

Paid tickets need Stripe connected. Until it is, Lahuta asks you to connect Stripe before selling anything. See Get paid.

Tickets

Tickets belong to a date. On an event with several dates, pick the date at the top of the section first. The Sales open switch beside it stops and restarts sales for that date without changing any ticket.

Add a ticket

Go to Registration → Tickets and select Add ticket.

Fill in the ticket. The fields are in the table below.

Select Add ticket. It goes on sale for the date you're looking at.

FieldWhat it's for
NameWhat buyers see, like "Studio seat" or "Bring a friend".
DescriptionWhat the ticket includes. Shown under the name on the event page.
PriceZero makes it free.
QuantityHow many there are. Leave it empty for no limit.
Minimum per registrationThe fewest someone can buy at once, for a table of four or a pair ticket.

The list shows how many of each ticket have sold, how many are left, and the price. A Sold out badge appears when none remain. Each ticket's menu has:

  • Edit to change it. You can change the price at any time, and people who already registered keep what they paid.
  • Move up and Move down to set the order on the event page.
  • Apply to all upcoming dates to copy the ticket onto every other date still to come.
  • Archive to take it off sale. Everyone who already has one keeps it, and its sales stay in your numbers.

When you create a free event with a Capacity, that number becomes the quantity of its "General admission" ticket. You can change it here later.

Questions

Registration always asks for a name and an email. Add questions for anything else you need, such as clay experience or a dietary note for a supper club. Each registration answers them once.

Go to Registration → Questions and select Add question.

Pick the kind of answer you want.

Write the Question. For Choice and Multiple choice, add at least two options.

Leave Required on if every registration has to answer, then select Add question.

TypeAnswer
TextA short written answer.
NumberA number and nothing else.
DateA day picked from a calendar.
ChoiceOne option from a list.
CheckboxOne box to tick, usually an agreement like a studio safety waiver.
Multiple choiceAny number of options from a list.
AddressStreet, city, state and ZIP.

Each question has a Required switch on its row, and a menu to Edit, Move up, Move down or Remove it. A question's type can't change once it's added. Removing a question keeps the answers already given. You'll find each guest's answers in their registration on the Guests tab.

Settings

Settings save as you change them.

SettingWhat it does
Tickets per registrationThe most one person can take at once: No limit, or a limit of up to 10.
Phone numberWhether the form asks for one: Don't ask, Ask or Require.
Details for every attendeeAsks for each guest's own name and email, not only the buyer's. Useful when one person buys for a group.
Approve every registrationRegistrations arrive as requests you decide on. Paid ones are only charged once you approve them.
Text the welcome messageSends a short text confirming their place, with a link to their ticket, alongside the confirmation email.
Text the ticketTexts the ticket's QR code as a picture, ready at the door.
Show how many are comingShows the number of guests, with their profile pictures, on the public page.
Let organizations apply to cohostAdds a link on the event page for other organizations to ask to cohost. See Cohosting.

The two texting settings need the phone number to be asked for first.

Approving registrations

With Approve every registration on, the button on the event page reads Request Approval, and new sign-ups wait on the Requests list of the Guests tab. Their seats are held while they wait. When you approve a paid request, the guest gets an email with a link to pay. A declined guest gets an email too. Your team gets a notification for each new request, which you can turn off under Registration requests in your notification settings. See Guests and check-in.

Welcome message

Every guest gets a confirmation email with a receipt and their ticket. The welcome message adds your own words and a picture above that standard receipt. Use it for what to bring, where to park, or how to find the studio door.

Go to Registration → Welcome message.

Write the Message. It can hold formatting, links and images.

Pick an Image if you want one at the top of the email.

Select Save.

Discount codes

The Coupons button opens your organization's coupons, where you can make a code for every event, chosen events, or chosen tickets of one event. Buyers type the code in the checkout, and each registration shows the code it used. A code can also be limited to buyers who arrive through a cohost's link. See Coupons.

You can fill in a code for your buyers by adding ?code= and the code to the event link, for example luta.co/e/<code>?code=SPRING10.
