Get paid
Connect Stripe so you can sell paid tickets, products and services, and see where the money goes.
Lahuta takes payments through Stripe. When a customer pays for a ticket, a product or a service, the money lands in your organization's own Stripe account, and Stripe pays it out to your bank. You connect Stripe once, and every paid thing you sell uses it.
You need Stripe before you can sell:
- paid event tickets
- products with a price
- services and custom offers
- payments taken on your own website through the Org API
Free events, free products and bookings don't need it.
Only admins can connect or disconnect Stripe. If you're a member, ask an admin of your organization.
Connect Stripe
Open the Stripe page
Go to Settings → Stripe. The page says "How your organization gets paid." You can also get there from the Connect Stripe step on the Overview checklist, the Set up payments button on the Overview banner, or the Payments row in Commerce → Store settings.
Start the connection
Select Connect Stripe. Lahuta creates a Stripe account for your organization and sends you to Stripe to set it up.
Finish on Stripe
Fill in what Stripe asks for, such as your business details and the bank account your payouts go to. When you're done, Stripe sends you back to the Stripe page in Lahuta.
Check the status
Give it a few seconds. When Stripe has approved the account, the Payments row shows an Active badge and the email address of your Stripe account.
Connection status
The Payments row tells you where things stand and offers the next step.
| What the row says | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Not connected" | No Stripe account yet | Select Connect Stripe |
| Setup unfinished, "Onboarding was left unfinished" | You left Stripe's setup before the end | Select Finish setup to carry on |
| Setup unfinished, "Stripe is still reviewing the account" | You've sent everything and Stripe is checking it | Wait, then check back later |
| Active | You can take payments | Select Open Stripe to see payments and payouts |
Open Stripe opens your Stripe dashboard in a new tab. It's a standard Stripe account with its own full dashboard, where you can see your payments and payouts.
Where the money goes
Payouts land in your own Stripe account, and Stripe pays them out to the bank account you gave it.
On the customer's side, checkout pages say "Payments are processed by Stripe · Powered by Lahuta". Customers pay by card, or with Apple Pay or Google Pay when their device supports it. See What your customers see.
If Stripe isn't connected
Nothing with a price can be bought:
- In your dashboard, a paid product shows "Connect Stripe to accept payment for this product." Members see "Stripe isn't connected. Ask an admin to connect it."
- A customer who tries to pay sees "This store can't take payments yet." or "This seller can't take payments yet."
Disconnect Stripe
On Settings → Stripe, open the menu at the end of the Payments row and select Disconnect. Lahuta asks you to confirm: "Nothing can be sold until an account is connected again. The Stripe account itself is not deleted."
Disconnecting only removes Lahuta's link to the account. Your Stripe account stays as it is in Stripe. To take payments again, select Connect Stripe.
