Connect Lahuta MCP

You can connect Lahuta to the AI assistant you already use. Once it's connected, you ask for things in plain words, like "who signed up for Saturday's class?" or "draft a newsletter about the new glazes", and the assistant looks things up and makes the changes in your Lahuta organization for you.

This works through MCP, short for Model Context Protocol. It's a shared standard that lets an AI assistant use other apps on your behalf. Lahuta publishes a web address that your assistant connects to. Through it, the assistant gets a list of more than 150 actions it can take in Lahuta, such as searching contacts or creating an event, and it picks the ones your request needs.

There's no API key. The first time your assistant connects, it opens your browser so you can sign in with your Lahuta account.

The assistant covers your day-to-day work: contacts, groups, the inbox, events, bookings, the shop, services, the blog, the newsletter, campaigns and social posts. Settings, your Express Page and uploading files stay in the dashboard. A few examples from Northside Pottery:

• "Create a Saturday wheel-throwing class next month, 10am to 12:30, with 8 spots at $65."
• "Who's registered for tonight's class? Check in Priya Shah."
• "Find everyone who registered for a class last month but hasn't bought anything, and put them in a group."
• "Add a note to Marcus Bell that he wants six matching bowls, and remind me to call him Thursday."
• "Put the speckled mug on sale at $32 and add it to the Mugs collection."
• "Make a code GLAZE10 for 10% off glaze kits, one use per customer, ending October 31."
• "What's unread in the inbox? Summarize each thread."
• "Draft this month's newsletter from our last three blog posts. Don't send it."
• "Show me open studio time next Tuesday afternoon and book 2pm for Dana Lee."

Pick the assistant you use:

Lahuta also shows these steps in the app, with a copy button next to the URL. Open lahuta.org/mcp, or, when you're signed in, select the AI tab at the top of the sidebar. The page is called Connect Lahuta to your AI Agent and has a tab for each assistant.

How sign-in worksCopy Anchor Link

You never paste a password or key into your assistant. Instead:

1. You add the server URL to your assistant.
2. The first time it connects, the assistant opens a browser window at Lahuta's sign-in page.
3. You sign in with the same account you use on lahuta.org. If you belong to more than one organization, you choose which one to connect. That becomes the default organization for this connection.
4. The browser hands the assistant a sign-in that it keeps and renews on its own. You won't see this again unless you disconnect.

From then on, the assistant acts as you. It can do what your role allows in that organization and nothing more: an admin's assistant can manage events and the shop, a member's can work with contacts, the inbox and marketing. You can also ask it to work in another of your organizations by name. See Organizations and permissions.

An assistant that can email your customers deserves some care. Here's how Lahuta keeps you in charge:

• 66 of the tools only look things up and change nothing. Lahuta marks them read-only, so your assistant knows they're safe to run.
• 32 tools send email, texts or social posts to real people, delete something, cancel something or make a change that's hard to take back. Lahuta flags them as destructive, and most assistants ask for your approval before running them. Keep that approval on. The Tools reference shows which tools are flagged.
• Campaigns, newsletter editions, custom offers and social posts start as drafts. Nothing goes out until a separate send step runs. Ask for a draft, check it in the dashboard, then send it.
• Lahuta checks your role on every request, not only when you connect. If an admin changes your role or removes you from the organization, your assistant's access changes with it.

Assistants make mistakes. When yours asks to run a tool, read the recipients, dates, prices and amounts it's about to use before you approve.

To disconnect, remove Lahuta from your assistant's connector or MCP settings.
