Shipping and pickup
Set your store's payments, shipping rate, ship-from address, pickup details and support contact.
Commerce → Store settings holds the settings every product shares: how you get paid, what postage costs, where parcels leave from, where customers collect, and who they contact with questions. Each row shows its current setting and the button that changes it.
Payments
This row is your Stripe connection. Nothing with a price can go on sale without it.
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Not connected | Select Connect Stripe. |
| Setup unfinished | Select Finish setup to pick up where you left off with Stripe. |
| Active | You're ready to sell. Open Stripe takes you to your Stripe dashboard. |
To disconnect, open the ⋮ menu and select Disconnect. Nothing can be sold until you connect an account again. Your Stripe account itself isn't deleted. Get paid covers the whole setup.
Shipping
This is your store's default postage. Products whose Shipping cost is Store default use it.
On the Shipping row, select Edit.
Choose one:
- Carrier rates. Buyers get live quotes at checkout, worked out from the parcel's weight and your ship-from address. Tick USPS, UPS or both.
- Flat rate. One amount per order. Enter it in Rate per order.
- Free. Buyers pay nothing for postage.
Optionally, fill in Free shipping over. Orders over that total, after discounts, ship free. Leave it empty and shipping is never free.
Select Save.
A single product can override the store default with its own flat rate per item, carrier rates or free shipping. See Products.
What carrier rates need
Carrier rates only work when:
- Your store has a ship-from address, below.
- Every variant of the product has a weight. Add weights on the product's Variants tab.
If either is missing, the product's page in the dashboard shows a warning and the product can't go on sale.
Ship-from address
Where your parcels leave from. Carriers need it to quote rates.
Select Add, or Edit if you've set one, and fill in Name, Company, Street, Apt, suite, City, State, ZIP, Phone and Email. Company, apartment and email are optional. Write the phone number in full with the country code, like +15550000000.
When you select Save, the carrier checks the address. If it's accepted, the row shows a Verified badge. The form doesn't ask for a country because carrier shipping works from US addresses only.
Pickup
Turn on pickup when customers can collect orders from you, like at the Northside Pottery studio.
Switch on the Pickup row. The Pickup dialog opens.
Fill in Shop name, Street, City, State, ZIP and Country. Phone is optional. Instructions tell people how to find you, like "Ring the bell at the back door."
Select Save.
The pickup address is printed on the buyer's receipt and on the "ready to collect" email. Products set to Picked up or Shipped or picked up need it. At checkout, buyers who can choose see Ship to me and Pick up in store.
Switching the row off turns pickup off and clears the address.
Support contact
Who buyers contact about an order. It's shown on order emails. Select Edit and fill in Email, Phone or both.
Leave both empty and order emails point to your organization's sending address. See Email settings.
