Referrals
Carry other organizations' products, let them carry yours, and see the orders you send each other.
Referrals let organizations on Lahuta recommend each other's products. Northside Pottery could carry a local woodworker's mug racks next to its own mugs, and the woodworker could carry Northside's glaze kits.
You never handle the sale. The buyer checks out with the seller, the seller keeps all of the money and ships the order, and the order records which organization sent the buyer. Lahuta doesn't pay the referring organization a commission. What you get is the record, shown in both directions in the Traffic section of the page.
You manage it in Commerce → Referrals.
Let other organizations carry your products
Each product has a Let other shops feature it switch in the Details card on its Overview tab. It's on for new products. While it's on and the product is Active, other organizations can add it to their shelf. Turn it off and the product disappears from every shelf it was on.
Build your shelf
Your shelf is the list of other organizations' products you carry, in the order you choose.
Go to Commerce → Referrals and select Add products.
Search or scroll the list. It only shows products whose sellers allow them to be carried, with the seller's name and the starting price.
Tick the products you want and select Add. They're added to the end of your shelf.
Use the up and down buttons on a row to reorder the shelf, and the remove button to take a product off it. The shelf exists while there's something on it. Empty it and it's gone.
A product leaves your shelf on its own if its seller archives it or turns off Let other shops feature it.
When a sale counts as referred
An order records you as the referrer when your organization opened the buyer's checkout for another organization's product. For example, your own website can send a buyer to checkout for a partner's product through the Org API, as long as that partner is listed on Discover. See Sell products on your site.
Traffic
The Traffic section counts orders that carry a referrer, from confirmed orders only.
- You sent shows buyers who left you and bought from another seller.
- You received shows buyers another organization sent to you.
Each card shows the number of orders and their total value, then a line per organization with its own orders and value.
