Custom offers

Quote one person a price, timeline and number of revisions from your inbox, and track whether they accept.

A custom offer is a quote for one person. Use it when the work doesn't fit a package: a customer messages Northside Pottery about 40 mugs with their café's logo, you agree the details in the chat, and you send them an offer with the price. They get an email with a link to accept and pay. Once paid, it becomes a service order like any other.

Send an offer

You send offers from a conversation in your Inbox.

Open the conversation with the person. Reply on the Chat channel. The Send offer button is in the message box there.

Select Send offer. The Send an offer dialog opens.

Fill it in:

  • Service. Leave it on Custom work, or pick one of your active services if the offer is a variation on it.
  • Brief. What you'll do, by when, and what it includes. This becomes the order's requirements when they accept.
  • Amount. The price, at least $1.
  • Delivery. How many days you need, counted from when they pay.
  • Revisions. How many times they can ask for changes after you deliver, up to 20.
  • Expires in. How many days they have to pay. After that the offer lapses.

Select Send offer.

What the customer sees

They get an email saying you sent them an offer, with a View and accept button. The offer also appears in your chat with them.

The offer page shows the amount, delivery time, revisions and expiry date. They need a Lahuta account to accept, so the page asks them to Sign in to accept if they aren't signed in. Then they select Accept and pay, which opens checkout.

If the offer has expired or you've withdrawn it, the page says it can't be accepted.

Track your offers

Every offer is in Commerce → Offers. You can also get there from the Offers button on the Services page. Filter with the All, Drafts, Sent, Accepted and Withdrawn tabs.

Each row shows who it's for, its status, the service or "Custom work", the delivery time, the amount, when you wrote it and when it expires. Select a row to read the full brief.

StatusMeaning
DraftCreated but not emailed. This happens when a send fails.
SentEmailed and waiting for them to pay.
AcceptedThey paid. It's now a service order.
ExpiredThey didn't pay before it expired.
WithdrawnYou withdrew it. The link no longer works.

Send a draft or withdraw an offer

Open the ⋮ menu on a row:

  • Send emails a draft. An offer is only ever sent once.
  • Withdraw cancels a draft or sent offer. The pay link stops working. Nothing already paid changes.

To change a sent offer, withdraw it and send a new one.

After they accept

The order appears in Commerce → Service orders, marked as a custom offer if it isn't tied to one of your services. Your brief is its requirements, and its delivery time and revisions come from the offer. Coupons can't be used on custom offers.
